Ceramic, crackle glaze | 21 × 20 cm | 2023
From Nightmare — Surface Under Pressure
Developed from a live model, this work examines the face as a divided surface.
The contrast between darkened and pale areas disrupts any unified reading of the form, producing a tension between visibility and concealment. The crackle glaze further fragments the surface, creating a layered structure of fine ruptures across the features.
Rather than presenting a singular state, the sculpture holds multiple conditions simultaneously—where the face appears suspended between cohesion and separation, presence and withdrawal.
