From Nightmare — Surface Under Pressure
A reflective
surface shifts between clarity and burn, holding tension beneath the skin.
This piece begins
from a face, then holds it in a state of quiet change.
This piece begins
from a face, then holds it in a state of quiet change.
The luster glaze
creates a reflective surface that both reveals and obscures the features. As
light moves, the face appears to shift.
Certain areas look scorched or fractured, as if the surface has been altered from within.
Nothing breaks
open. The change stays contained, held within the skin of the work.
What remains is a
face that is still present, but unsettled—caught between clarity and erosion.
