A group of
life-scale figures forms a scene already in progress, inviting passersby to
step in.
A site-specific intervention extending the work from individual interaction to a collective spatial encounter.
Public Mural Project – Tehran Municipality, Iran, February 2025
The figures are
based on archival imagery and rendered at life scale.
They are placed
directly within the pedestrian space, forming a gathering that appears already
underway.
People passing by
can enter the scene, standing among the figures rather than observing from a
distance. A painted architectural element—a door—is integrated into the wall.
From a distance, it is often read as real, creating a moment of uncertainty
between image and space.
The wall itself
is left visible, with its erosion, repairs, and uneven surface becoming part of
the work.
What happens here
depends on proximity. As viewers move closer, they shift from observers to
participants—briefly taking part in the gathering.
