The form holds a
constant tension, as if something within it has not been released.
The piece begins
as a compact, organ-like mass.
Its surface is
punctured by blunt protrusions—unfinished, exposed, and interrupting the form.
These elements do
not read as growth. They appear halted, as if the body has been stopped
mid-formation.
Nothing breaks
open. The tension remains contained within the structure.
The red clay adds
weight to this condition. It holds the form, but also suggests
fragility—something that could give way.
The form endures
in this state—held, exposed, and unresolved.
