Ceramic, crackle glaze | 21 × 20 cm | 2023
From Nightmare — Surface Under Pressure
Light and dark
divide the face, while fine cracks hold the surface in tension.
The piece begins
with a face.
Areas of light
and dark sit against each other, breaking any single reading of the form.
A crackle glaze
spreads across the surface, adding a network of fine lines that further
unsettles the image.
The face does not
split cleanly. It remains whole, but unstable—pulled between opposing
conditions.
It stays in this
tension, without settling into one state.
