From the Woman, Life, Freedom uprising
Hair, pigment,
and embedded pellets hold the trace of violence without depicting it directly.
This work is
built from a combination of portrait sculpture and resin panels.
The panels
contain strands of human hair, red pigment, and embedded pellets. These
materials are not illustrative. They carry what remains.
The hair is
collected and fixed in place—once part of a living body, now held in
suspension.
The red pigment
spreads across the surface, while the pellets remain still and contained.
Nothing is shown
as an event. The work stays with what is left behind—marks that do not resolve.
The pieces remain
fragmented, held between presence and absence, where the body is both visible
and withdrawn.
